New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Manager Energy Delivery Fleet Services to oversee and direct day to day activities of all fleet personnel in 3 company locations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Track garage operations and productivity and ensure the needs of all field employees are being met in terms of fleet needs.

  • Develop vehicle specifications and work with internal personnel and vendors to procure all required vehicles and equipment.

  • Ensure all new vehicles are upfitted properly and put into service in a timely fashion.

  • Communicate effectively with vendors, users, and management to improve maintenance operations.

  • Ensure all fleet records are properly maintained and up to date.

  • Interface and coordinate with users to ensure optimized use of all fleet vehicles; periodically analyze vehicles and usage records to match service requirements with vehicles.

  • Maximize staff utilization, parts, and supplies for cost effective availability in garages to reduce downtime and backlog.

  • Develop and track O&M and capital budgets and communicate monthly budget variance analysis to management.

  • Analyze fiscal and repair information to focus on needs, prioritizing each to address significant problems impacting profitability in an efficient, smooth manner.

  • Direct staff to ensure proper and timely scheduling of work coordinating staff, parts, tools, facilities, and equipment for safe, economical and reliable service.

  • Investigate new technology and when applicable rollout new technology to improve fleet maintenance and utilization.

  • Develop training program for bargaining unit employees.

  • Maintain/establish policies and procedures for fleet management operations.

  • Organize and adjust the daily workflow.

  • Work with team members to develop ways of performing work better, faster and more efficiently for continuous improvement.

  • Calculate costs of doing business and cost out alternatives for services provided.

  • Commit to coaching team members and providing feedback in developing technical skills and maintaining safe practices on the job.

Position Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, high school diploma or GED is required.

  • A minimum of six years of relevant work experience is required.

  • Working knowledge of vehicle and truck fleet operations including acquisition, repair and disposal.

  • Knowledge of managing a garage; experience in managing bargaining unit personnel.

  • Knowledge of utility fleet industry trends.

  • Experience in analyzing acquisition options, maintenance and repair costs, and alternate fuel options.

  • Experience in CNG operations and maintenance of CNG equipment.
