Description

Robert Half is excited to partner with a leading Fortune 500 healthcare client to find a dedicated and professional Patient Care Coordinator for their clinic in Walnut Creek, CA. This role is essential in facilitating a positive customer experience through a variety of tasks, including pre-registration, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and answering billing inquiries. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, possess outstanding customer service skills, and be adept at managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regular, consistent on-site attendance, demonstrating punctuality and reliability.

  • Schedule patient appointments across designated departments using specialized scheduling software.

  • Provide patients with testing instructions to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Secure necessary authorizations and referrals as applicable.

  • Maintain a strong customer focus, assessing and addressing customers' needs to enhance their experience.

  • Greet and interact with patients and their representatives in a polite, professional manner, addressing their needs effectively.

  • Respond to customer issues across various departments promptly and satisfactorily.

  • Collect accurate demographic, insurance, and claim adjudication information through interviews with patients or their representatives.

  • Update patient records accurately and ensure compliance with necessary authorizations and medical guidelines.

  • Communicate effectively with management on issues impacting task accuracy and timeliness, and suggest process improvements.

  • Display dignity and respect in all interactions, fostering a respectful work environment.

  • Adapt to and incorporate changes in daily activities, including updates in insurance payer regulations and system changes.

  • Follow all departmental processes and policies, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the clinic.

    Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of patients, staff, and departments.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of working under pressure and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and express ideas clearly.

  • Initiative to accept and incorporate changes, and motivation to contribute positively to the team and processes.

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and the revenue cycle, with the ability to assist customers effectively.

  • High School Diploma is required.
