Description
An established Walnut Creek-based law firm specializing in real estate litigation is seeking a Real Estate Litigation Paralegal to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex real estate disputes in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong background in litigation and real estate law.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage case files and documentation related to real estate litigation, including contracts, leases, deeds, and title documents.
Track and maintain case deadlines, filings, and court dates.
Assist in drafting and responding to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
Organize and review discovery materials, identifying relevant documents for litigation purposes.
Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
File documents in compliance with California state and federal court rules, including e-filing.
Conduct legal and factual research related to real estate disputes, such as zoning laws, easements, and property titles.
Assist in preparing property reports and summaries for attorney review.
Coordinate and organize trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
Provide on-site support during hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Act as a point of contact for clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
Facilitate communication between attorneys and clients, ensuring timely updates on case progress.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with at least 2 years in real estate litigation.
Familiarity with California real estate and litigation laws, including landlord-tenant disputes, title issues, and property contracts.
Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and eDiscovery platforms.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
