Utility Maintenance Mechanic (Part-time)

Greene County is seeking a person to serve as a Utility Maintenance Mechanic. A person in this position performs duties including mowing grass, reading water meters, performing repairs on water lines, placing pipes and fittings in excavated ditches, installing water taps, and operating digging and other equipment. Working with water treatment, wells, and pump stations.

Qualification: Graduation from high school and some experience in maintaining and operation of motorized equipment is required. Also, as North Carolina driver's license is required. Job will also require Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check.

Physical Demands: This position requires the physical ability to operate a variety of equipment and to operate a pickup truck. The ability to exert 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently is required. Physical demand requirements are for heavy work. This position reports to the Public Works Director.

Starting salary will be $14.11 per hour; Approximately 20 hours per week.
