Boston Engineering, an innovative product development engineering company, seeks a mixed-signal Electrical Engineer with a focus on power electronics. In this role, you will:  

  • Design, build, and debug electrical and mixed-signal electronics  

  • Power electronics design of switching mode power supplies from Watts to tens of kilowatts. 

  • Design embedded real-time systems 

  • Develop solutions from the specification phase through the final delivery and acceptance testing  

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to realize electro-mechanical designs and build deliverable hardware 

  • Perform simulation and breadboard tests to establish design validity 

  • Build test fixtures and write test scripts for systems 

  • Support debugging of electro-mechanical systems 

  • Understand & practice the job role within our quality management system as trained

Required Qualifications:  

  • 3-5 years of experience in fast-paced electronics-orientated product development 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Master’s preferred. 

  • Ability to realize high current, moderate voltage designs using a combination of PCBs, buss bars, and cabling. 

  • Eligibility for ITAR and defense contract work. (US Person) 

  • Ability to operate test and measurement equipment, including DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers 

  • Experience with ECAD tools for the design of PCBs (Altium Designer a plus) 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in MS Office 

Desired Capabilities: 

  • Experience integrating and debugging power electronics and embedded systems. 

  • Experience outsourcing builds to assembly houses for PCAs, Panels, and cables. 

  • Working knowledge of software, familiarity with C/C++, python, and/or ROS platforms 

  • Ability to succeed in a challenging technical and customer-focused environment 

  • Ability to approach designs from a system perspective 

  • Understanding of electro-mechanical systems and strong system-level debugging skills
