Mellott Company Engineering Project Manager in Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania

Job Scope:

This position works with the Systems team. Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through coordination with other teams (i.e. Manufacturing, Service, Parts, Sales, Procurement, etc.).

Essential Duties:

Plans and implements engineering program, including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements, per customer requirements. Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project. Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers. Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages. Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Directs integration of technical activities and products. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Monitors contract scope requirements and transacts change orders as required. Prepares interim and completion project reports. Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met. Provides status and progress reports to the customer, project team, and management. Secondary Duties:

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Bachelors degree or related field of work and/or equivalent years of experience

Physical Requirements:

Reaching - 15% of shift

Pushing - 15% of shift

Pulling - 10% of shift

Sitting - 50% of shift

Standing - 10% of shift

Walking - 25% of shift

Work Environment:

Work takes place in a climate-controlled office, fabrication shop floor, and customers plant sites outdoors subject to weather. The volume is office to plant - minimal to loud. Personal protective equipment, such as steel toe boots, safety glasses, hard hat and ear plugs/muffs, are required in the plant sites.
