Lockheed Martin C-5 Aircraft Structural Field Service Engineer (Level 4) in Warner Robins, Georgia

Join our Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment Team as a C-5 Structural Systems Field Service Engineer (FSE). This position is located at the Warner Robins ALC at Robins AFB, Georgia. The FSE will function as the Lockheed Martin Subject Matter Expert (SME) while advising and assisting the customer on all matters pertaining to maintenance, inspection, logistics, and operation of the C-5 aircraft with emphasis on aircraft structural systems and repair. This position requires extensive C-5 aircraft experience with regard to structural systems and components and requires a wide and comprehensive understanding of preventative and general maintenance and repair techniques practical to aircraft structures.

Other responsibilities include:

• Experience in troubleshooting, operation, modification and inspection methods relative to the installed systems is essential.

• Tasks include but are not limited to the following: Provide on-site/on-equipment engineering assistance and technical advice including investigation, engineering analysis and interpretation of results to customer personnel.

• Assistance to the customer will be provided on all aspects of equipment operations including installation, maintenance and operation techniques, adjustment, calibration, trouble shooting, bench check, routine maintenance, inspection and intermediate level repair.

• Provide advice in the identification of and instruction on the use of special tools, handling equipment and test equipment associated with the C-5 aircraft.

• Provide advice and assistance on the use and interpretation of technical orders, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other related technical publications.

Provide on-going surveillance of shop maintenance and safety practices

• Provide technical advice and recommend corrective measures necessary to ensure adequate maintenance and safety procedures are followed to minimize future problems.

• Assist the customer in troubleshooting of unusual and difficult maintenance issues associated with C-5 aircraft. Analyze maintenance problems and suggest improvements where indicated.

• Provide liaison between customer and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) on related maintenance and operational problems.

• Provide liaison through which information related to maintenance and operational problems can be quickly disseminated to operational and maintenance personnel.

• Candidate must be willing to travel and accept assignment to any location for which selected.

Basic Qualifications:

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

• 5 years of general aircraft structural maintenance experience - total years of experience must include 3 years of C-5 aircraft structural experience.

• 3 years experience reading, interpreting and applying basic repair techniques using blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

• Functional knowledge of MS Office Suite software.

• Must be a United States citizen.

• Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must possess at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:

• Experience with all C-5 aircraft systems.

• 8 years of general aircraft structural systems experience.

• 5 years of C-5 aircraft structural experience.

• 2 years experience as a Field Service Engineer.

• Experience at an operational C-5 customer site.

• Planning and Scheduling maintenance activities.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
