SUMMARY: To teach students practical applications and theory of Health Sciences relating to the regulations set forth by the  Michigan Department of Education, Office of Career and Technical Education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  • Ability to teach Nursing Assistant (CNA and/or PCT), Medical Assisting (NHA-CCMA), Anatomy & Physiology for Health  Careers and Medical Terminology or some combination of the listed classes. • Contribute to fostering a strong program industry advisory committee and conducts a minimum of two meetings per year. • Teaches the state approved standards for CIP Code 51.0000 • Update the CIP Self-review and fulfill all State of Michigan CTE requirements annually • Participate in student HOSA competitions. • Teaches district approved curriculum. • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. • Administers and Develops subject specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or  developing individual learning plans. • Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student's  achievements; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment. • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day. • Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students,  parents and administration. • Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of  improving the overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school  improvement plan.
