About the role

The position of Director, Supplier Relationship Team (SRT), is a critical role in leading and managing the operations with Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) for supply of our marketed products and future innovations. The role requires leadership to deliver against the business objectives and aspirations with the appropriate application of quality and compliance to protect Haleon and their customers. The Director, SRT does this by:

  • Providing Category Leadership for the portfolio of CDMOs and CMOs aligned with the business to strategically manage and prioritize business objectives for the Brands in conjunction with the Strategic Resource Allocation model. Where required, collaborating with SRT Lead for CDMOs/CMOs external to the Director's portfolio to represent/coordinate supply priorities aligned with the Category business needs.

  • Being the principal point of contact for the business relationship for specific CDMOSs and CMOs. For CDMOs/CMOs within the Director, Strategic Relationship Management Team's portfolio work closely with SRT Lead assigned to lead the specific CDMO / CMO.

  • Leading a cross-functional team to ensure end-to-end oversight of assigned CDMOs and CMOs, ensuring reliable on-going supply, quality, customer service, compliance, value and innovation for the life cycle of the contract (from selection of the supplier, technology transfer activities and management of commercial packaging activities) and across the life cycle of the product portfolio with the CMOs.

  • Developing beneficial relationships with the assigned contract manufacturers in order to deliver increased competitive advantage through managed cost, customer service, agility & quality within the framework of the Manufacturing Supply Agreements (MSA) and Quality Assurance Agreements (QAA) with these CDMOs and CMOs.

  • Working closely with the Regional CMO Leadership Team to continuously evaluate the CDMO and CMO base and ensure that the right partners exist with the appropriate capabilities.

Role Responsibilities

Supplier Relationship Team Management

  • Provide Category portfolio representation for Supply Chain related to products and capabilities sourced from CDMOs/CMOs. Ensure alignment on business requirements through Integrated Business Planning process and support for Brand Innovation.

  • Lead and manage cross-functional team of 4-6 functional team members per CDMO/CMO to manage supply of products from Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations.

  • Build communication channels and governance structure for supplier relationships.

  • Drive adherence and maintenance to the MSA, QAA and SLA agreements with suppliers, rigorously follow the designed operating rhythm, with periodic KPI review and continuous improvement initiatives as per the applicable contracts/ agreements.

  • Work with Supplier Relationship teams to enable optimum supply chain set-up to deliver end to end supply chain performance across costs, quality, service, and agility. Ensure alignment on supplier strategies, negotiations and changes with functional heads and subject matter experts in the wider CMO community.

  • Lead the Supply Chain for all product life cycle events ranging from new product introductions, portfolio extensions/rationalization, technical transfers, and pruning/ divestment, etc.

  • Drive continuous improvement, cost savings ideation, cost avoidance, and delivery. Includes sourcing consolidation opportunities to drive supply chain efficiency and improvements.

  • Indirectly work with SRMs providing SRT leadership for CDMOs/CMOs supporting the Category assigned. Where required supervise a team of Supplier Relationship Managers (SRMs) in terms of capability and process development.

Supply Chain Strategy

  • Support development of CMO Network strategy within the SRT with key inputs on managing supplier performance and capability to deliver on cost, service, quality and agility across CMO Network.

  • Identify and select suitable CMOs and Business Partners with the appropriate capabilities which are in line with business expectations, objectives and compliance requirements to enable the right sourcing decisions.

Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Responsible for ensuring a fully compliant value chain (local as well as corporate rules & guidelines): Quality Assurance elements such as GMPs, EH&S, Financial and regulatory compliance.

  • Responsible for proactive risk identification and mitigation planning to protect business requirements.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree.


A minimum of 10 years' experience in the following areas:

  • Experience of supply chain and logistics leadership including development and implementation of supply chains either internally or externally.

  • Experience of supplier performance and relationship management across complex supply chains.

  • Experience in Procurement and Relationship Management with external business partners / CMOs.

  • The ability to lead cross functional teams to an aligned strategic vision for CH QSC and Haleon.

  • Experience implementing new product launches and the integration of new businesses and business models.

  • People and capability development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.

  • Strong knowledge across Supply Chain Operations (Supply Chain Planning, Plant Operations, Quality, Technical, etc.) and Product Lifecycle Management.

  • Supply chain strategy skills including supplier relationship management, supplier development, continuous improvement.

  • Excellent Sourcing and Procurement skills with a proven track record of achievements.

  • Knowledge of EHS, cGMP & Regulatory requirements, Financial P&L's and business case architecture, Logistics and Supply planning, business case for Contract Manufacturing sites.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence a complex and diverse matrix of stakeholders and peers across regional and categories.The gravitas to operate at a senior management level within a multi-national blue-chip organization.

  • An ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the Commercial, R&D and Supply Chain organizations.

  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities suitable for handling the highly complex issues associated with technical and supply problems.

  • The ability to prioritize and work with multiple projects and tasks concurrently.

  • Ability to challenge status quo and existing practices and to introduce new ideas and change ways of working based on sound understanding of product details and the related manufacturing process.

  • Knowledge of Risk analysis and option analysis tools and techniques.
