NORTHWEST BANK Payments Technical Lead in Warren, Pennsylvania

 

The Payments Technical Lead is primarily responsible for the oversight of operational systems and processes that facilitate daily payment operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Make recommendations to increase system availability, performance, improve efficiency, and reduce costs through the payments channels Act as a SME and technical resource for enterprise payments related projects and initiatives Serve as project lead for business level upgrades and projects Oversee the ongoing design of operational, servicing and work systems; accountable for reviewing updates to established procedures according to Northwest's established guidelines Review and/or complete risk assessments for the department as needed Coordinate testing activities for the payments team as necessary Oversee implementation and adoption of new features and functionality Design and implement tools and metrics to track, monitor and report on department system performance Document and complete technical performance appraisals and performance management duties including, but not limited to, providing appropriate feedback and goal setting Participate, as required, to the preparation of responses to examiners, auditors, and internal audit Evaluate solutions associated with high risk and critical payments processing and debit/credit cards processing to ensure timely and accurate processing of ACH, wire transfers, debit/credit card transactions and emerging payments. Act as liaison between payments management and IT counterparts for incident reporting, escalation and resolution. Mentor and coach staff on system capabilities and payment rules and regulations Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency Work as part of a team Work with on-site equipment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to identify existing and potential problems, obtain and evaluate relevant information, identify possible causes of the problems, and suggest an alternative course of action including innovative or creative approaches Ability to allocate and effectively use information, personnel, time, and other resources necessary for implementation of Northwest's strategic plans Ability to make decisions, render judgments, and take action on tasks within the scope of given authority in a timely fashion Ability to develop, evaluate, and implement alternative courses of action, based on correct assumptions concerning resources and guidelines, and support decisions or recommendations with data or reasoning Ability to present and express ideas and information effectively and concisely in an oral and/or written mode in a manner appropriate for the audience Ability to listen and comprehend what others are saying and facilitate the open exchange of ideas and information Ability to motivate and provide direction in the activities of others, appropriately assigning work and authority, in the accomplishment of goals; providing advice and assistance as required Ability to understand and appropriately apply procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies; maintain credibility with others on specialty matters Knowledge of appropriate credit card, debit card, ATM, and EFT systems Knowledge of multiple entity types and structures of both loans and deposit accounts Ability to have successful interactions with key strategic partners at a management level Knowledge of debit and credit card products, credit policy, compliance, and interpretation of legal and regulatory issues Knowledge of organizational procedures, operations, and applicable compliance rules and regulations Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions while working on multiple tasks without compromising quality or increasing legal, operational, or compliance risks QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job success ully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Technology preferred High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Work Experience: 5 - 6 years payments experience preferred 3 - 5 years IT Operations/Systems experience preferred
