This is an exciting opportunity for a Control Systems Engineering Intern within the Non-Safety l&C Systems Engineering - Turbine & Balance of Plant Systems area of Westinghouse. This Engineering area is responsible for operating plant upgrades of existing analog to digital control systems and new plant design (such as the AP1000). These operating plant upgrades and new plant designs are completed using the Ovation platform with projects ranging in size and scope globally.
Responsibilities with Guidance & Learning: Control Systems Engineering Intern can expect to be involved in the following activities:
- Interpret functional requirements for l&C Plant Systems.
- Designing, documenting and testing l&C Plant Systems used for Nuclear Power Generation Stations applications.
- Develop l&C design specifications to meet functional requirements.
- Implement l&C hardware and software designs to meet design specifications.
- Develop design documents, test plans and procedures to demonstrate that designs meet design specifications and requirements.
- Generate and issue Field Change Notices to site in support of hardware and software modifications.
- Resolve technical issues that arise during system design, implementation and site commissioning/startup.
- Support manufacturing operations to facilitate procurement, manufacturing process, testing and integration of l&C Plant Systems during Software In-Loop and Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Support field operations during site commissioning and startup activities.
- Interface with Supply Chain Management, manufacturing, outside vendors and other departments impacted by l&C Plant systems design & development.
- Provide cost and schedule estimates to support subject matter experts.
