Wyoming County Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility Chief Medical Technologist in Warsaw, New York

CHIEF MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST: WYOMING COUNTY COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEM

HOURS: All shifts as required SALARY: $101,014.18 - $108,546.30 per year

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is a supervising and technical position involving responsibility for planning and overseeing the technical operations of the hospital laboratory. The work is performed under the general direction of the Laboratory Director with allowances for the exercise of independent judgment. The position involves responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of quality in testing procedures. The Chief Medical Technologist (CMT) functions as the laboratory supervisor outlined in the requirements of Chapter 11, Section 58-1.3 of the State Hospital Code. The CMT works on the laboratory premises during hours in which tests are performed. Supervision is exercised over the work of subordinate laboratory personnel. An employee in this class is expected to be available at all times for emergency testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Successful completion of a full course of study which meets all academic requirements for a bachelors degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university, AND

B. Qualifications outlined in the CLIA 88 Amendments (Subpart M: Personnel for Non-waived Testing, 493.1351 493.1495, AND

C. Six years of full-time, pertinent clinical laboratory experience subsequent to qualifying of which at least two years have been spent working in a clinical laboratory having a director at the doctoral level.

D. ASCP Certification preferred.

Degree(s) must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/ U.S. Secretary of Education.
