Summary: The incumbent in this position is responsible for inspecting and testing incoming parts and materials using precision measuring instruments and other testing equipment and/or methods.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspect, test, or measure incoming materials for quality specifications, Approve or Reject materials based on testing to specification requirements. Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. Read Process Sheets, product data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection, and testing procedures. Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards. Quarantine all items without an Open Purchase Order. Manage MRB Cage Inventory and process vendor credits for non-conforming materials. Match Bills of Lading to Purchase Orders. Assist with cycle counting and bin location transfers. Indirect supervision of warehouse clerks as needed. Notify supervisors of quality issues identified and status of disposition with Vendor/Supplier. Create and maintain Material Receiving Files. Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures. Perform all other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

:

 High School Diploma or GED equivalent; or graduation from a technical/trade school. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Quality Inspector working in a manufacturing environment. Background in ISO9001 and IATF16949 compliance preferred. Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

  Spanish a plus. Proficiency with computers and demonstrated skills in office applications. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Solid skills and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and metric.
