Legal Compliance Internship - First Year Law Students

Danaher's legal team works around the world to provide our operating companies and corporate functions with excellent legal advice on a wide variety of matters in a swift and cost-effective way. Our primary "clients" are the Danaher operating companies and other corporate functions, no matter the nature of their legal needs. Accordingly, we are focused on building and sustaining an ethic of service and business partnership with our operating companies. Our primary areas of expertise are in compliance, contracting and commercial negotiation, dispute resolution/litigation, governance, intellectual property, investigations, labor and employment, mergers & acquisitions, and securities law, but our team handles matters of all kinds.

Each Danaher legal sub-function will have responsibility for “sponsoring” the intern for approximately one week: IP, M&A, Compliance, Litigation, Securities/governance/sustainability, Government Affairs, L&E, Legal Operations, International and Safety & Regulatory

Each sub-function will develop an agenda for the week it is sponsoring, to include background reading to prepare the intern, mentorship meetings to meet key members of the sub-function team, shadowing/observing meetings of interest and particular projects the intern can support.

  • Intern will work on mini projects that possibly extend for more than one week per sub function.

  • Projects could include legal research, completing tasks that legal sub-functions have not had the bandwidth to pursue and other workstreams in support of legal sub-functions.

  • Intern will participate in networking lunches to provide the intern opportunities to meet members of Danaher’s legal sub-functions in a less formal setting

  • The internship will comprise an 8-hour workday, five days per week. The internship will extend for 10-12 weeks. Beginning 6/2/24

  • The salary range for this role is $50 per hour/$2,000 per week. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

  • The role will be in-person at Danaher’s corporate headquarters in Washington, DC, though flexibility will be extended as needed.
