The Infrastructure Planning and Acquisition Center of Excellence team (IPA CoE) is responsible for enabling and optimizing the foundation that supports infrastructure delivery for Land, Energy, Networking, and Datacenter Planning through efficient processes, data driven decision making, innovation, and automated and integrated tool sets.

As a Principal Business Architect, you will design and develop enterprise-level architecture that enables comprehensive and cohesive business strategy, anchored in value delivery and realization. This includes evaluating the overall maturity level of the organization across processes, people, and technology to create a clear picture of where investments are needed to address capability gaps and unlock full potential. This position ensures a repeatable and efficient approach to evaluating both operating and business models to support organizational change efforts, specifically focused on transformation. The Business Architecture function will be responsible for translating our OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and business initiatives into a refined strategic Business Value Roadmap with functional definition and clarity, while championing business case development for funding and approvals. Responsibilities

  • Develops an enterprise outline of core and supporting business processes, including holistic details across people, resources, technology, and data.

  • Adapts and implements industry-standard Maturity Model assessments to evaluate organizational and functional operations, leading gap identification and opportunity evaluation as key inputs to the overarching business value roadmap.

  • Defines Business Architecture efforts across the organization through a principles-based approach to guiding customer satisfaction, marketplace positioning, supplier management, scalable operations, and a unified work environment.

  • Builds Capability Sets required to achieve the North Star Vision and sequence them for an Architecture Roadmap.

  • Works with Capability PMs to ensure the Proposed Architecture is understood and executed successfully.

  • Ensures all proposed and approved programs align with and contribute to the defined business architecture.

  • Leads envision efforts for mid- and long-term strategies across business segments, providing clarity and organization for the future state that the business architecture support.

  • Engages strategically with functional leaders as a trusted advisor to transform and scale business operations, consulted on all major processes, technology, or data change projects.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholder groups to articulate strategy and initiative deliverables to capabilities, process, BI, and development teams, ensuring well-socialized change programs, high user adoption, and business value realization.

  • Champions operational excellence by establishing Business Value Delivery metrics that are meaningful and action-oriented, ensuring progress towards overall goals and establishing processes for regular assessment and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or any other business related field AND 6+ years experience in technical program/product management, system architecture, product roadmap, authoring tooling visiono OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of customer-facing experience.

  • 5+ years of experience working with business architecture

  • 5+ years of experience in future-state envisioning and business strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sound understanding of Data Center business, preferably in a Hyper-scaler environment

  • Experience/background in Source to Pay process – in the context of procuring Network Bandwidth products, Land and Energy

  • Experience in SAP Procure to Pay, Ariba and EPPM

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification from an internal entity or a globally recognized third-party. Experience in DMAIC and LEAN methodologies.

Customer Solutions Architecture IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
