Job Title: Stationary Engineer - Part Time (CNRIC)

Job Summary: EMCOR Services CES has an immediate need for a Stationary Engineer in Washington DC. Opening is available on 1 st shift during weekend and holidays.

The Stationary Engineer monitors, repairs, and performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all the equipment in the Central Utilities Plant (CUP) and hospital for appropriate system equipment. This position requires a licensed DC 3rd engineer who has mechanical and electrical aptitudes. This role is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitors the equipment within the CUP utilizing the Building Monitoring System (BMS)

  • Works with the Project Manager to ensure that all mechanical systems are operational.

  • Make equipment rounds per shift and record data according to department policy. Monitors the equipment within the CUP.

  • Operate, Maintain, and Repair equipment within the CUP as required. Identify and locate parts as required to perform repair activities.

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on CUP equipment as required.

  • Complete Work Order and Preventative Maintenance (PM) paperwork in a timely and professional manner.

  • Participate in the monthly running of the emergency generators.

  • Receive fuel delivers and update daily fuel level logs

  • Perform housekeeping in various rooms within the CUP as directed by the Project Manager.

  • Maintain a daily logbook of all shift activities in accordance with department policy.

  • Escort and record all maintenance and repair activities of all vendors in the CUP.

  • Read, understand, and sign off on weekly Toolbox safety literature.

  • Follow and implement standard Lock Out Tag Out policies and procedures.

  • Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health certification

  • Work extended hours as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a current District of Columbia 3 rd Class Stationary Engineer license.

  • Must have a current Universal CFC license.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Must be able to work 1st shift weekends and Holidays

  • Must complete a OSHA 10 General Safety and Health Training class (supplied by EMCOR).

The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
