Job Profile Summary

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to administer, develop, run tests on, implement, and maintain operating system and related software. This position will be full-time and on-site.

What You’ll Do

  • Administers, develops, runs tests on, implements, and maintains operating system and related software

  • Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters

  • Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems

  • Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries

  • Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts

  • Schedules, plans, and performs system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments

  • Schedules tasks using software support tools and scripts. Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices

  • Provides technical support for system users

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a similar role

  • Strong experience with various operating systems, including Windows Server, Linux, and UNIX

  • Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.

  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other language to automate routine operations

  • Experience setting up, configuring, and managing virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud administration

  • Proficient in implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure, such as switches, routers, and firewalls

  • Experience with database administration, patch management, and network security protocols

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and projects

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to effectively collaborate with team members and document system configurations

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitors
