Kadiak LLC, a subsidiary of Koniag Government Services, is seeking a highly qualified Analyst Coder II to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality assurance of data entry and medical coding related to adverse event reporting, individual case safety reports (ICSRs), and other critical healthcare data. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related health science field, with a strong background in medical coding, data management, and project management.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Analyst Coder II will be responsible for:
Ensure the accuracy of data entered critical fields according to coding principles, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform medical coding in accordance with FDA instructions, ICH Coding Principles, and other relevant guidelines, including quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure appropriate code selection.
Perform data entry functions as needed and provide quality assurance of the entered data, providing critical feedback to data entry staff using a database designed to capture, track, and report errors.
Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay up to date with coding practices and procedures.
Utilize advanced software systems to resolve and handle medical coding of adverse event forms using appropriate coding terms and taxonomies.
Code Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) according to established policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
Possess at least 2 years of managerial experience, providing guidance and oversight to a team of data entry and coding personnel.
Interface with internal users as well as external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Apply and use project management tools such as MS Project, spreadsheets, and other software to manage coding and data entry tasks and activities.
Perform code entry from Adverse Event Report forms or images of these forms into a relational database using International Medical Terminology, verifying medical codes and data entry accuracy.
Review and retrieve system data, match output with specifications in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and resolve any discrepancies.
Manage functional task activities and provide leadership and direction to lower-level personnel involved in coding and data entry operations.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) in a related health science field, such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, or Medicine.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role related to medical coding, data entry, or quality assurance.
Relevant certifications or licenses in medical coding, health informatics, or project management are preferred.
Proficient in using advanced software systems and databases for medical coding, adverse event reporting, and data entry.
Extensive knowledge of medical coding terminologies, taxonomies, and coding standards (e.g., ICD, CPT, SNOMED, MedDRA).
Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy and quality.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve data entry and coding issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for providing feedback, training, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Ability to follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficient in project management tools and techniques for managing coding and data entry activities.
Leadership and team management skills to supervise and mentor junior personnel.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Experience in a government or military healthcare environment, with familiarity with relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
Knowledge of data quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
Understanding of data privacy and security protocols in the healthcare industry.
Proficiency in additional coding languages or scripting for data manipulation and reporting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
