Meta Associate General Counsel, Monetization (GenAI) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary:

Meta is seeking a talented attorney to join our Monetization Legal team and serve as Associate General Counsel, Monetization (GenAI). This role includes opportunities to advise Meta’s product and business teams on emerging requirements around offering our generative artificial intelligence products for advertisers. An ideal candidate for the role will have extensive product counseling experience and a solid understanding of core privacy laws and regulations. The candidate must be a clear communicator and be able to collaborate across functions. You will join a collegial and growing team of lawyers who identify, evaluate and address legal risks in light of emerging laws, compliance obligations and policies.

Required Skills:

Associate General Counsel, Monetization (GenAI) Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a team expert on global generative AI-related laws and regulations relevant to digital platforms and the advertising ecosystem

  2. Analyze global products, features, and initiatives and provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions

  3. Counsel product, engineering and business teams on compliance with existing data protection, competition, intellectual property and consumer protection laws as well as emerging legal frameworks

  4. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)

  2. Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)

  3. 12+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience

  4. Experience with advertising-related laws, regulations, principles, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, internet and technology companies

  5. Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills

  6. Effective communication skills

  1. In-house experience at a digital advertising, technology, social media or AI company

  2. Experience with global laws relating to digital advertising, social media platforms and similar technologies

  3. Experience working proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment

  4. Experience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projects

Public Compensation:

$226,000/year to $304,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
