Koniag Operations Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist with a High-Risk Security Clearance to support KOS and our government customer in Washington, DC.
Koniag Operations Service, LLC is currently recruiting a full-time Certified Industrial Hygienist with a strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills who possesses a comprehensive understanding of various standards and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, ACGIH, ASHRAE, ANSI, NFPA and other industry standards, to support of our federal government customer in Washington DC.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties include, but are not limited to:
Conduct industrial hygiene investigations, assessments, studies and evaluations to identify potential health hazards in the workplace including combustible dust hazard analysis
Conduct assessments related to Indoor Air Quality, Water Quality, and Noise and Chemical exposure
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate and control exposure to hazardous materials and substances
Provide technical guidance and training to employees on best practices for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
Conduct air and noise monitoring, as well as sampling and analysis of various contaminants
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Develop and implement health and safety programs to promote a culture of safety within the organization
Provide direct supervision, training and guidance to KOS EHS contractor staff
Create Standard Operating Procedures, protocols
Perform Accident Investigations and root cause analysis
Create training materials
Carry out quality assurance tasks pertaining to environmental health and industrial hygiene investigations, studies and evaluations
Staff Scheduling
Position is onsite (non-remote) Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30 pm remain flexible based on customer needs.
Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the company
Minimum Requirements that must be met:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Ability to successfully complete a required background investigation and clearance
Active Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC)
Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, physics or engineering from an accredited college recognized by the US Department of Education
Must have a minimum of 10 years Environmental Health and Safety with at least 5 years in project management
Experience Qualifications:
Program Management
Mold Remediation
Ergonomic Assessments
Combustible Dust Hazard Analysis
Electrical Personal Protective Equipment/Material Testing and Certification
Experience creating Policies, SOPs, training documents
Accident Investigations/Root Cause Analysis
Prior experience working in the Federal government is preferred
Proficient computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and Cority
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
