Ameresco Director – Measurement and Verification in Washington, District Of Columbia

Ameresco has a new opportunity for a Director – Measurement and Verification to lead our Measurement & Verification Team. The Director will be responsible for overseeing team operation and performance and engaging with Ameresco’s Federal Government and utility customers on M&V matters related to Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) and Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESC).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage M&V team operations with responsibility for team performance and compliance with contractual requirements.

  • Ensure timeliness of Post Installation Reports (PIR), Annual Verification Reports (AVR), responses to Government comments, and other deliverables.

  • Negotiate M&V plans with Federal Government customers at agency and site/installation level.

  • Maintain agency-level relationships with Federal Government customers.

  • Collaborate internally with development engineering, construction, finance, commissioning, and O&M departments to ensure a holistic teamwork approach to Ameresco projects.

  • Assess risks related to guaranteed savings for ESPC and UESC performance contracts.

  • Provide performance and compliance reports to Director and VP level management.

  • Identify process improvements to improve workflow and efficiency.

  • Stay abreast of M&V industry developments to ensure compliance with FEMP M&V Guidelines, IPMVP, and agency-specific requirements.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or business-related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing engineering teams or similar teams.

  • Ability to review confidential US security information.

Additional Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience working with Federal Government agencies such as DOD, DOE, GSA, and VA preferred.

  • Experience managing remote employees preferred.

  • Familiarity with performance contracting, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and mechanical and/or electrical engineering preferred.

  • Familiarity with ESPC and UESC performance contracting projects preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
