Sodexo Director, Sales Technology in Washington, District Of Columbia

Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Director, Sales Technology who will lead the planning, implementation, and enhancement of our sales technology tools across North America. This role focuses on the selection and optimization of technologies to support Sales, Marketing, and Retention teams across all segments. While this requires a high knowledge and expertise of sales & marketing technology, how we use these tools is the art behind the science. This role must be able to teach a class on how to design and execute sales plays to designing effective email communication that gets results. This person will work with heads of Marketing, Sales, and Retention along with direct users (Sales Execs, Marketing team members, and Retention teams).

This is a remote role

Technology Strategy & Roadmap : Creating a strategic plan to leverage technology for improved sales growth and retention, with a focus on higher productivity, conversion, and customer retention. Maximizing the existing technology stack across segments will be a key aspect.

Performance Optimization: Regularly reviewing and improving technology performance, process efficiency, usage, and adoption, with an emphasis on building a robust sales pipeline and enhancing conversion rates.

Rolling Out New Technology: Implementing and integrating new tools and systems across all business segments, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and maximizing potential usage. Several new application deployments are planned and the successful implementation of these is a key responsibility.

Leading and Collaborating: Working closely with segment teams, IT, and global partners to ensure that technology solutions are tailored to meet their needs.

Technology Strategy & Roadmap

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and regularly update a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with sales growth, retention, productivity, and conversion goals.

  • Technology Assessment: Evaluate current technology tools, identifying opportunities for leveraging existing investments across segments and planning for future needs.

  • Segment-Specific Strategies: Design tailored technology strategies for each segment, ensuring alignment with their unique needs and goals.

  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitors' technology adoption and market trends to inform strategic planning.

  • Budget Management: Oversee the budget for technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and financial guidelines.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies within the technology strategy.

  • Collaborate with Executives: Work closely with executive leadership to ensure the technology strategy supports overall business objectives

Performance Optimization

  • Regular Assessment: Conduct regular reviews of technology, tools, and systems to ensure they are meeting performance standards and business goals.

  • Enhancement Initiatives: Identify and implement enhancements to existing technologies to boost efficiency and productivity.

  • Pipeline Development: Develop and refine tools and processes that build a robust sales pipeline, focusing on higher productivity and conversion.

  • Monitoring and Analysis: Use metrics, analytics, and data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement in technology performance, usage, and adoption.

  • User Training & Support: Facilitate training and ongoing support to ensure end-users are utilizing technologies to their full potential, aiding in the achievement of sales and retention goals.

  • Collaboration with Sales & Marketing: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Retention teams to align technological resources with strategic objectives, providing tools that specifically cater to growing sales and retaining customers.

  • Technology Alignment with Goals: Ensure that the technology stack is aligned with organizational sales and marketing strategies, providing regular updates and adjustments as necessary.

  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers to ensure optimal performance of technologies and tools, handling any issues or updates as required.

  • Compliance & Security: Ensure that all technologies are compliant with industry standards, regulations, and organizational policies, prioritizing data security and customer privacy.

Rolling Out New Technology

  • Implementation Planning: Develop detailed plans for the rollout of new technologies, including timelines, resource allocation, and integration with existing systems.

  • User Training: Coordinate training sessions for end-users to facilitate smooth adoption of new technologies.

  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the rollout process, conducting regular checks to ensure quality and functionality.

  • Support and Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support during and after the rollout, resolving any issues that arise.

  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve the rollout process and the technology itself.

  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors during the rollout to ensure timely delivery and alignment with specifications.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all rollout procedures are documented and comply with relevant industry standards and organizational policies.

  • Monitoring Adoption Rates: Regularly assess how well new technologies are being adopted and utilized, implementing additional support or training as needed.

  • Post-Implementation Review: Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate the success of the rollout, identifying lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.

Leading and Collaborating

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a liaison between Sales, Marketing, IT, and other departments, ensuring alignment and effective communication of technology initiatives.

  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the Sales Technology team, setting goals, evaluating performance, and providing regular feedback.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the organization, ensuring technology strategies are aligned with business objectives.

  • Project Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams on the planning and execution of technology projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely delivery.

  • Global Partnership Coordination: Work closely with global partners to ensure the consistency and efficiency of technology strategies across various regions.

  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives related to technology adoption, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.

  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts that may arise within the team or with other departments, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Strategic Contribution: Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions, representing the Sales Technology perspective and contributing to organizational direction.

  • Vendor Relations: Cultivate and manage relationships with vendors and third-party collaborators, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.

  • Innovation Cultivation: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team and the broader organization, encouraging creative problem-solving and adaptability.

Is this the right opportunity for you? We are looking for candidates that have/are:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, sales, marketing

  • Experience leading sales development teams, building sales & marketing programs and leveraging technology to manage/scale/grow sales

  • Expert level understanding and power user of best in class modern sales tools like Salesforce, Outreach, Chorus, Pardot, Chat GPT, and other AI based technologies

  • Five+ years team management experience

  • Experience managing SaaS technology

  • Proficient/Advanced in data analytics and reporting

  • Proficient/Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Pardot, Outreach, Chorus, Zoominfo

  • Meticulous attention to detail, with demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness

  • Superior time management, project management, organizational and leadership skills; ability to influence, manage and drive action of the efforts of team members in on-time and accurate execution of deliverables

  • Proactive, decisive, and adept at crisis management

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams/efforts, able to influence others and effective in developing team members

  • Strong leadership, analytical, verbal, written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to own complex project and process management initiatives
