Koniag Data Solutions (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Information Assurance/Security Specialist with a Secret Clearance to support KDS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position is full time on-site at Fort McNair, Washington, DC.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support customer’s ability to comply with cyber security and system security requirements to safeguard sensitive data and maintain operational continuity

  • Support development of cyber security policies and plans to identify and respond to threats and issues in compliance with Army regulations.

  • Manage access controls and permissions

  • Implement and maintain security patches and updates

  • Provide incident and recovery support as necessary

  • Achieve and maintain ATO and ATC for systems.

  • Maintain systems security data in the Army Portfolio Management System (APMS)

  • Support the OCIO/IMO with cyber security/IS security information to respond to taskers.

  • Maintain system, applications, and software to meet accreditation requirements of the RMF IAW DoDI 8510.01.

  • Ensure systems receive and maintain a full ATO/ATC for use on Army networks

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Current active Secret Security Clearance

  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in the area of IA, Cyber/Information Security

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Security Engineering of DoD Network Infrastructure, Wireless Technologies (Mobile Internet of Things (IoTs), Endpoint Security, Network protocols, COMSEC and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

  • At least 1 year of experience year with DoD Certification and Accreditation and Cyber Risk Management (DoD RMF, NIST)

  • Experience performing high-volume analysis of logs, network, and system data

  • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) (preferred)

  • Have demonstrated knowledge of network threats, attacks, and other methods of exploitation, and the ability to develop Tactics, Techniques, Procedures (TTPs) to mitigate, deter, and respond.

  • Have knowledge of Cyber Security practices for cloud and virtual environments (ex. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, VMWare, and OpenStack)

  • Have strong knowledge of security incident handling/incident response process, methods, and coordination with Regional Cyber Center-CONUS (RCC-C), Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC), NEC, etc.

  • Have strong knowledge and understanding of DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) engineering efforts, as they relate to security engineering Military Construction/Military Construction Army (MILCON/MCA projects).

  • Have strong knowledge of the development of Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) Policy (Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), TTPs, etc.) and the conduct of the associated inspections for user adherence to the CCOE policy developed

Certifications Required:

  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or associate)

  • CASP, CISSP (or associate), or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) and CSSP Auditor

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (red), Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) (blue), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA) and IAM II

  • CAP, CASP, CISM, CISSP (or associate) or GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC).

  • Successfully complete Information Assurance Fundamentals online course and exam at: https://ia.signal.army.mil/IAF/default.asp

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
