Chenega Systems (CS) provides federal agencies empowered solutions in Cybersecurity and Data Visualization. Our Subject Matter Experts offer decades of experience working in the federal marketplace and the data visualization environment.

The Intermediate Cyber Defence Forensic Analyst is responsible for examining digital media in a forensically sound manner to identify, preserve, recover, analyze, and present facts and opinions about digital information in support of cyber incidents, law enforcement, fraud, or counterintelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform digital forensic analysis, including network and host-based

  • Collect, process, analyze, preserve, and present computer-related evidence in support of (to include, but not limited to) cyber incidents, general counsel, law enforcement, fraud counterintelligence, and insider threat

  • Perform automated and manual malware analysis/reverse engineering

  • Execute proactive defense of systems through IOC sweeps, host interrogation, and persistent threat-hunting

  • Provide status updates according to the reporting rhythm, maintain daily Activities Tracker, and prepare Enterprise Forensics, E-Discovery, and Malware Analysis SOP

  • Provide in-depth forensics of digital evidence (e.g., hard drives, mobile devices, flash, and optical media), serve as expert testimony to law enforcement as required, and handle/document following applicable U.S Statutory Laws, Federal Rules of Evidence, and industry best practices

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of experience in cyber defense and digital forensics

  • GIAC GCFA, GIAC GCFE, or similar level certification preferred

  • Background check

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience of dead box forensics (primarily standalone devices that are acquired through some form of discovery or confiscation)

  • Knowledge and experience with live box forensics (instant capture and analysis of live system data over the network)
