Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Human Services, the Arts or related field, one (5) to eight (8) years of cultural arts, activities programming and management required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and be available to handle community relations. Must be proficient in the operation of computer applications such as Office and AOD, various office machines including switchboard telephone, calculator/adding machine, copying machine, fax, etc.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for delivery of services related to the 9 dimensions of Wellness. In addition this position requires excellent design and documentation skills for developing processes, projects, programs, policies, and systems. Must have the ability to influence without having direct control, have the creative ability to take a vision and translate into programs that can be deployed, have an expert understanding of the program needs of residents in independent, assisted and dementia care living environments. Must be an effective communicator have strong leadership, teaching, coaching and motivational skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Must approach all encounters with residents, associates and vendors in a friendly, service oriented manner while demonstrating a high work ethic. Must have the ability and willingness to meet project deadlines and goals, be punctual and dependable.

Key Responsibilities

Oversees the implementation of an integrated Life Enrichment programs and activities, in conjunction with residents and staff in Independent and Assisted Living and Comprehensive Care that addresses the eight dimensions of Wellness.

  • Designs and implements innovative approaches to maximize resident and associate wellness in support of IRC's Life Enrichment strategy in alignment with IRC's businessobjectives.
  • Leads the deployment of programs and events for residents and associates.
  • Design the Life Enrichment strategy and thenleveragestrategic partnerships in development of programs and services.
  • Develop processes,policiesand procedures to consistently deploy and improve IRC Life Enrichment programs.
  • Performs detailed analysis on the performance of the IRC Life Enrichment team and programs to ensure measurable outcomes for residents and associates.
  • Works with Marketing and Sales Services to enhance the IRC brand and to develop the Life Enrichment Programs, IRC's unique value proposition.
  • Collaborates with other functional areas and the Exe utive Director to create and integrate the Life Enrichment philosophy throughout the company and communities.
  • Stays current in the field through continuous learning, internal and external benchmarking activities, and sharing of measurable best practices.
  • Oversees the compliance of community programs with state and federal requirements.
  • Provides input into the creation of and adherence to annual community budgets with regard to Life Enrichment initiatives and programs.
  • Coordinates Life Enrichment department meetings and other communications.
  • Conducts program reviews at least annually.
  • Maintains the programming for the in-house TV station and thewebportal, providing anadditionalavenue of communication for residents.
  • Coordinates with the Beauty Shop and Massage Therapy staff to offer services that provide residents and staff with convenient, high quality, on-site services.
  • Works closely with the chaplains to ensure a breadth of ecumenical programming for residents.Works with the staff and families to coordinate Memorial Services both on site and at other outside locations.
  • Identifiesseminar topics on psycho/social issues and organizes presentations to residents and families.
  • Interacts with Resident Council to ensure all residents' needs are being met.
  • Works with residents and their families on a daily basis to resolve any inquiries and/or issues that arise.
  • Maintains contact and relationship with variousdistrict,countyand Congressional officials to keep informed on all programs and events going on in the community.
  • Coordinates the Fitness Program for residents and staff including the CPR certification program.
