Summary NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. This position is located in the Office of Data and Evaluation. The incumbent will be responsible for triaging and responding to data-analytic requests related to humanities data, and assessing the suitability of machine learning approaches to support decision-making processes." Responsibilities Responds to data requests with machine-assisted reports and dashboards. Performs ongoing assessment of agency data analysis needs. Designs and develops generalized data models, tools, and dashboards to reduce the need for ad hoc data-analytic requests. Provides guidance on machine learning, data science, and/or AI system integration for agency staff. Assists with administering grant programs, contracts, & cooperative agreements. Assists with the development of program guidelines, outreach activities, and program assessment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. At the GS-11 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) assisting with data and database querying and analysis; (2) reviewing machine learning, data science, and/or artificial intelligence interpretation and evaluations; (3) preparing data analytic needs assessments; (4) reviewing pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents to job-related needs. At the GS-12 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or equivalent experience. At the GS-13 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) leading projects in the field of data and database querying and analysis; (2) administering machine learning, data science, and/or artificial intelligence interpretation and evaluation; (3) preparing data analytic needs assessments; (4) implementing pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents to job-related needs. Education GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related Additional Information 1.
