Randstad Federal is seeking a Network Project Manager in support of a federal program at Department of Commerce

location: Washington, Washington, D.C.

responsibilities:

The Network Project Manager/Service Delivery Manager (PM/SDM) will develop project plans, schedules, and coordinate services supporting a nationwide network infrastructure of a U.S. federal agency with over 3000 users. This role involves the Implementation of ITIL v4 foundation Service Management practices. Additionally, the role requires communicating mission/project requirements across multiple bureaus and directly engaging with senior federal and contractor stakeholders to identify appropriate resources, skilled professionals, and materials needed to ensure project/delivery success. The PM/SDM is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts. The PM/SDM shall provide the qualifications for the service area(s) they support..

The PM/SDM shall provide the following types of support:

  • Implement project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.

  • Assemble project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, cost, timeline risks and issues appropriately.

  • Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.

  • Coordinate communication with all areas of the enterprise that impact scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.

  • Assist the Task Order Program Manager in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise.

  • Implementation of ITIL v4 foundation Service Management practices.

  • Deploying Network Operations, Systems Administration, and Security Engineering support resources.

  • Assists in the management of human resources and staffing functions to ensure project performance is exemplary (e.g., hiring, performance management).

  • Manage one or more cross-functional projects of medium of high complexity. It is desirable that the SDM have the following experience and/or knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality service in enterprise level environments.

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality service for government enterprise infrastructure transitions.

  • Support the TOPM is preparing and presenting task order deliverables, and other duties as assigned.

PM/SDM must have the following experience and/or knowledge as an IT Project Manager:

  • An active Secret clearance or higher.

  • ITIL V3 Foundations or comparable framework Certification ITIL V4 Preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMPĀ®) Certified or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management.

  • Experience in the following disciplines:

  • Information Systems, Information Technology,

  • Engineering, Management, or Computer Science.

  • Information Technology experience, with no less than five (5) years of recent experience in managing multiple projects.

  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: enterprise architecture, network operation center, data center operations.
