ManTech Network/Systems Administrator in Washington, District Of Columbia

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network / Systems Administrator, Journeyman Level to join our team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will provide direct on‐site/off‐site support for the deployment of information technology (IT) equipment to critical incident sites and special events. You will be providing comprehensive hardware and software support, perform systems analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation of IT solutions to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot equipment, including servers, storage, network devices, cabling/wiring, and LAN/WAN devices to include HW/SW installations, moves, additions and changes (IMACs).

  • Provide management and monitoring support for any infrastructure such as but not limited to LAN devices, servers, storage, cloud (AWS and Azure), and DR/COOP.

  • Monitor and optimize network performance.

  • Perform OS management, SW/HW management, patching, vulnerability remediation, etc. for any network device, VTC/VOIP, servers, storage, and cloud (AWS and Azure).

  • Provide on-site and off-site hardware and software support throughout the deployment lifecycle.

  • Performs site surveys and visits as necessary to facilitate orderly functionality for any special projects and/or IMACs.

  • Perform the installation, testing, and maintenance of software applications to streamline business operations. Pilot and test new SW, applications or systems to assess their effectiveness.

  • Ensure security policies and procedures are implemented and maintained for network devices and any infrastructure.

  • Supports critical incident sites and special events including Critical Incident Management, Emergency Support Function, and COOP for mission-critical tasks.

  • Required to be on a 24x7 hour status to respond to critical incidents as needed.

  • Conduct hardware and software analysis including product research, evaluation, testing, and recommendations.

  • Work is directed and/or managed by a supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science or Management Information Systems) or in lieu of a degree a minimum of (6) years of IT experience.

  • 2+ years’ experience with hands on experience installing or monitoring / managing network devices, servers and storage.

  • Hands on experience with Cisco network devices, Windows and Linux servers and performing updating and patching devices.

  • Ability to resolve complex issues; strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proficient with ServiceNow.

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work to be performed at a government facility in the National Capitol Region.

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Clearance Requirements :

  • Must possess a current Top Secret security clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Additional Requirements :

  • Available 24/7 standby status to respond to critical incidents, if assigned.

  • Participate as a team member to ensure rapid deployment of communications and IT services during emergency responses, disaster recovery operations, relocations, or special events.

  • This position is dynamic and requires the ability to work long hours for short periods of up to several days outside of a normal work environment.

  • Communicate effectively with peers, senior personnel, coworkers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.
