Job Summary

Price Benowitz LLP is seeking to hire a skilled and motivated  Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team at our Washington, D.C. headquarters. This Paralegal position will focus on assisting attorneys with cases to ensure the efficient and timely progression of the different stages of pre-litigation. The firm covers cases throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, requiring candidates with knowledge and experience with these jurisdictions. This is an in-office position, and candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of our Washington, D.C. office.  Duties for this position will include:

  • Drafting letters and other forms of correspondence.

  • Preparing FOIA Requests.

  • Obtaining and organizing documentation required at different stages of pre-litigation.

  • Coordinating with the Investigator to obtain photos of scene and witness statements when needed.

  • Processing PIP/MedPay.

  • Obtaining prior injury/medical and claims/lawsuits history and reviewing all medical records.

  • Maintaining regular contact with clients.

  • Preparing notice letters to Medicare/Medicaid and lienholders.

  • Drafting and sending out demand packages, and monitoring receipt and processing of demand.

  • Preparing closing statements, check account balances, and process disbursement.

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred),  and/or paralegal education.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of personal injury paralegal experience, preferably in practice areas for VA and DC.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deliver results, and maintain quality while working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.Detail oriented and organized.

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others.

  • Strong research skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience with a broad range of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Foreign language skills are considered a plus, but not required.
