We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for our mission, which is helping minorities to get the education they need. You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights. This position will require 3 days a week in office in DC.

salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for handling the day to day transactional accounting with an emphasis on General Ledger side of the business at our non profit located in Washington DC. This person should able to record financial transactions, prepare financial reports and ensure data accuracy. They will work with financial documents including accounting, tax returns, balance sheets and profit and loss accounts. They will also help with the large investment portfolios. This person will report directly to the Director of Accounting.

Requirements:

Must have an Accounting Degree

Must have 7+ years of Accounting Experience with focus on General Ledger

CPA would be a plus

Must be able to travel to Washington DC, 3 days per week and work from home 2 days per week.
