The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking Special Access Program (SAP) Security Administrator . As a Special Access Program Security Administrator you will support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) development and implementation of a multi-disciplined security program for complex, major acquisition special access programs (SAPs) at Government facilities in the Pentagon, Mark Center, and nearby locations. This position is contingent upon a contract modification and funding and customer approval. We expect a start date in August 2023.

This position requires a candidate with knowledge and experience in personnel, industrial, physical, and information security principles.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with DoD security principles and systems

  • Demonstrated experience in SAP security management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Current DoD TS clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • OUSD(R&E) experience

  • SCIF management experience

As a Senior Analyst, you will support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) development and implementation of a multi-disciplined security program for complex, major acquisition special access programs (SAPs) at Government facilities in the Pentagon, Mark Center, and nearby locations. In this position, you will serve as the key program and policy analyst, providing high-level advisory and technical services OUSD(R&E) in key, complex areas of special security administration, governance and oversight, developing detailed plans, tasks, milestones, and schedules. You will assist in the functions of personnel, physical, information, industrial, and communications security and continuity of operations. This position requires a candidate with knowledge and experience in personnel, industrial, physical, and information security principles.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with DoD security principles and systems

  • Demonstrated experience in SAP security management, including development of program identification description (PID) documentation and SAP access nomination documentation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Current DoD TS with SCI eligibility

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • OSD and/or OUSD(R&E) and related systems experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • SCIF management experience
