The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Senior Configuration Management Engineer to support our government customer located in Washington, DC.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shall ensure delivery of reliable products to customers by maintaining consistent processes governing the coordination, tracking, planning, scheduling, and building of all software components.

  • Control, maintain, and store software work products, including COTS - ensuring complete traceability of changes through a documented change management process

  • Development or testing experience in a UNIX, Windows or VMWARE environment

  • Facilitate Configuration Change Control Board (CCB)

  • Provide CM assessments and inputs to change requests; Interfacing with all engineering disciplines and program management

  • Create and improve CM processes

  • Implement and configure industry accepted configuration management policies and standards

  • Evaluate existing configuration management plan(s) and recommend changes to improve processes.

  • Contractor shall develop configuration management standards, configuration management plans and procedures.

  • Ensure changes to configuration management methods and processes are approved, communicated, and documented in accordance with industry CM standards for best business practices.

  • Manage the configuration management plan, principles, and processes.

  • Scope, plan, and direct the configuration management process.

  • Ensure integrity and operational performance of configuration management systems.

  • Provide technical administration and support of Configuration Management System (CMS), central libraries, tools’ common code and data; undertake housekeeping of asset and CMS.

  • Monitor performance of existing asset and configuration management systems and recommend improvement opportunities

  • Conduct and direct Requirements Review Board (RRB), Technical Review Board (TRB), Change Advisory Board (CAB), and Configuration Control Board (CCB)

  • Participate in the Commander’s Configuration Management Board (CCMB)

  • Review changes in configurations for compliance with industry standards as well as contractual and internal requirements

  • Create and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule tracking complex IT projects across the enterprise. The contractor shall identify conflicts and provide Courses Of Action (COA) to deconflict competing projects or tasks based on CCSA leadership priorities

  • Proactively mitigate vulnerabilities of the unclassified and classified CCSA networks including managing STIGs, software and security patches as directed by authorized CCSA personnel

  • Perform management to include controlling, planning, allocating, deploying, coordinating, and monitoring the resources necessary for proper network operations, maintenance, and services for all AOC architecture

  • Provide systems engineering support and COOP planning to include providing technical guidance to other Army RSAC and AOC remote facilities and their internal staff or outside contractors in IT planning, exercise planning and facility operations Contractor shall coordinate COOP activities with COR and other COOP contractors as necessary to prevent duplication of effort with other contracts that support COOP activities

  • Coordinate infrastructure details with other organizations (such as the IT infrastructure and services provider), 844th Communications Group, 114th Signal Battalion, Washington Headquarters Service, Regional Cyber Center - CONUS) and with other contractors or vendor personnel to promptly resolve issues or outages which affect CCSA and its user community

  • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Either a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in computer related technology, business administration or six to ten (6-10) years of experience in the field of configuration management.

  • A current ITIL version 4 certification at time of hire.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, experienced with build processes and an ability to lead, and facilitate a Change Advisory Board (CAB) or Configuration Control Board (CCB), provide clear guidance and detailed planning.

  • Knowledge and experience with IT governance and control frameworks (NIST, COBIT, COSO, ITIL) Creating and improving CM processes

  • In-depth knowledge of server clustering of enterprise cluster management software. (e.g. Veritas Clustering Software and Microsoft Failover Clustering)

  • Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and execution in a secure environment

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • U. S. Citizenship required.

  • Must have an active Top-Secret clearance.
