Description

Provide systems analysis and technical support to SAF/AQ (Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition). This position will be located on Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, Washington DC. Essential job functions will involve, but may not be limited to: Supporting the Program Element Monitor in his/her daily responsibilities, to include providing an operational perspective to assigned programs, analysis of program financial execution, and analysis of technical capabilities. You will also be responsible for performing program assessments, along with formulating acquisition and policy recommendations, especially related to the protection of advanced warfighting capability. You will also assist the PEM in communicating program status and issues to Congress, OSD, and Senior Service leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides expertise on developmental programs to include key science and technology (S&T) efforts, support to testing and evaluation, and oversight of initiatives requiring appropriate level technical expertise.

  • Assists in acquisition planning, drafting supporting documentation, Planning Programming and Budgeting for S&T initiatives.

  • Helps the government assess the technical sufficiency, cost, quality, and timely delivery of program deliverables

  • Confers with engineers to provide technical advice and to assist with problem resolution as needed

  • Supports management and execution of programs consisting of multiple projects. Ensures overall program is properly coordinated and efficiently accomplished with the best available resources

  • Provides Monthly Status Report (CDRL A002) on all support efforts including updates in status and performance, major activities, challenges and opportunities, deliverables, and subcontractor performance

  • Drafts, reviews and edits final program reports, documents and briefings

  • Supports transition of S&T efforts to acquisition planning and development

  • Coordinate with external agencies to include operational units, higher headquarters, Combatant Command (COCOM) staffs, other acquisition activities, and research and development functions. Coordination will include producing, tracking, and coordinating, all agreements and documentation necessary for systems development and transitions seamlessly into a framework for organizing, training and equipping

  • Supports and advises acquisition and program management functions, advises government management on design challenges, risk assessments, market solutions, documentation, production challenges, operational delivery and integration, and supports system program reviews

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • 7+ Years of military Service experience required.

  • Headquarters, Air Staff or Pentagon Staff / Action Officer experience required Understanding of the DoD Planning, Programming, and Budgeting

  • System Required

  • 5+ Years of experience working with Special Access Programs (SAPs) Required

  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this position

The compensation for this role location in DC is $160,000-$170,000.

Preferred Experience:

  • Air Staff PEM or DON Requirements Officer Experience Desired

  • Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Relevant Discipline highly Desired
