Serco Sr. Software Engineer in Washington, District Of Columbia

Position Description

Serco has a Sr.Software Engineerrole in Washington, DC. You will be on a dynamic team with daily interaction among all facets of the construction of the FFG 62 (Guided Missile Frigate) frigate. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense, the quality of ships and the safety of our sailors.

This position requires an active or current DoD Secret security clearance or is contingent upon one’s ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.

Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for providing engineering and production support on the PMS 515 program. In this role, you will join the team and support the PMS 515 transition of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Management capabilities into GEMIS to support Class GFE Management capabilities. This encompasses system administration activities, engineering analysis and discrepancy reporting.

In this role, you will:

  • Integrate the data architecture to establish relationships between individual GFE systems/components, associated cost estimates, associated budget controls, and a ship construction schedule workflow.

  • Automate data standards to minimize labor intensity, human-error and maintain data integrity.

  • Shall manage data content through the workflow for Schedules A-E in alignment with contractual schedules and cost, shipbuilder’s schedules, and SPDs for each ship.

  • Implement existing automated dynamic data analytics between the shipbuilder’s integrated master schedule, PARM/Vendor GFE schedules, and periodic contract modifications.

  • Prioritize discrepancies and apply risk factors.

  • Integrate automated reconfigurable data items for the users to perform “what-if” analysis for risk mitigation and contract modifications.

  • Integrate existing automated analysis to discover data patterns touncover real-time insights to mitigate future risk events.

  • Integrate graphical depictions of the data analyses as information related to the ship construction schedule and funding values deviate.

  • Develop and provide briefing materials for quarterly in-process reviews to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.

  • Provide a monthly financial and technical status report to provide a comprehensive summary of expenditures, progress and significant accomplishments achieved and challenges encountered during the period of performance.

  • Have the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • A current or active DoD Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance post-employment.

  • At least eight years of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency with PEO Ships GEM Government Equipment Management Information System (GEMIS)

  • High proficiency in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

  • Excellent oral and technical report writing skills.

  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

In compliance with the District of Columbia’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is131,293.17to227,532.46; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
