Summary

The purpose of the purchasing clerk is to do SAP & MAXIMO entry of purchase orders, receiving, transfers and issues on computer. Do weekly and monthly inventory reconciliation. Maintain accurate inventory and relaying accurate cost to accounting, maintain files, type other correspondence as needed. Serves as a back-up to the purchasing manager and the in the ingredients cage. Completes some purchasing on a regular basis and all in absence of purchasing manager. Strong communication and analytical skills are a must.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • SAP & Maximo entry of purchase orders, receiving, issues and returns to and from other departments

  • Order trays and keep inventory of trays on a daily basis

  • Order CO2 and keep inventory of CO2

  • Make labels for other departments

  • Purchasing in absence of purchasing manager

  • Maintain accurate inventory, do weekly and monthly inventory reconciliation and relay accurate costs to accounting

  • Maintain files and records

  • Review and resolve blocked invoices

  • Serve as a back-up anywhere in the department & must be able to obtain a forklift license through Perdue.

  • All other tasks as assigned by management

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

  • 0 to 2 years.

  • Knowledge of standard software applications, such as Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and decision making skills.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position requires walking and standing inside plant environment for up to 8 hours per day.

  • May need to move equipment or supplies from one place to another.

  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

  • Work activity is inside production facility.

  • When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
