Responsibilities You will provide technical and operational support to the Fleet for ship salvage, diving, undersea operations, oil and hazardous substance (IHS) incident response, and ocean engineering programs. You will advise on overall planning and program requirements. You will determine the systems, equipment and personnel to be deployed. You will coordinate efforts with other response organizations including the Coast Guard, EPA, and NOAA. You will consult with other Commands, Services and Federal Agencies in the development of response plans, and in training or response teams. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band NH-03 (GS-13) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing environmental spill response or salvage evolutions to ensure adherence to federal, state, and national regulations for recovery or clean up operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-04 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. This position has a control point; thus the salary range may be capped at GS-15, step 05, which is equivalent to $185,824. If you're current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
