DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1, you will conduct professional work of an administrative nature involving the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, and coordination of intellectual disabilities programs as a member of the administrative staff of the Washington County BHDS.  Duties involve ensuring implementation of the rules, regulations, program policies, and objectives, and assisting in oversight of the delivery of services.  Additional responsibilities involve providing technical assistance to providers which entails program planning, development, implementation, and coordination.  Work is performed under the direction of the ID Program Director and is reviewed on an ongoing regular basis.  This position requires attending trainings as necessary, including the Certified Investigator, Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) mandated trainings, and various professional development programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You may be required to work outside of normal scheduled hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree;or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
