The Western Engineering Office of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is searching for an Environmental Projects Construction Inspector to oversee a range of civil and environmental construction projects within our State Parks and Forests. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Environmental Projects Construction Inspector, your role will involve overseeing Civil and Environmental Construction Projects for DCNR facilities to guarantee compliance with official contract documents and relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring that facilities are safe and operate as intended. The primary project sites will be located in State Parks Region 2, encompassing western Pennsylvania, although this may extend beyond that area. Your responsibilities will include interpreting contract requirements through the review and analysis of technical drawings and specifications, as well as ensuring that the Contractor adheres to these technical documents during construction. The types of projects you will inspect include foundations, bridges, pumping stations, buildings, roads, dams, marinas, retaining walls, storage tanks, water and wastewater treatment plants, swimming pools, campgrounds, bike trails, and other facilities of varying complexity. You may be tasked with inspecting multiple projects simultaneously, either independently or in collaboration with a Staff Engineer, forming a Project Team under the guidance of the Regional Engineer. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• A state vehicle will be provided for frequent travel within DCNR Region 2
• This is Home Headquartered position, applicants must reside in one of the following counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland or Venango.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects such as dams, flood control projects, mine reclamation projects, treatment plants, hazardous waste projects, airports, highways or utility installations; or
• An Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• All positions require possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
