Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position:

Maximize the sale of Corning Optical Communications (COC) products within the Northwest Territory (WA, OR, AK, HI) to grow the business and ensure success of the company. Develop and execute a territory sales plan focused on delivering network solutions that leverage Corning’s comprehensive capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. or B.A. degree desired; technical discipline preferred

• 2 years of sales, marketing, product management or engineering experience

• Strong Solution Selling Capabilities

• Consultative Communication: Probes for information and shapes a customer discussion

• Organizational Agility: Builds relationships and works effectively within an organization

Desired Qualifications:

• Industry product knowledge preferred

• Leverages broad knowledge of our products, solutions, and value proposition

• Understands how Corning’s solutions provide value to the customer

• Independent computer skills with Microsoft Office & Outlook, Salesforce.com

• Ability to express ideas in writing with clarity and brevity

• Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet or exceed sales budgets for all telecommunications products assigned:

• Develop Corning Optical Communication’s product and solutions knowledge sufficient to support markets

• Develop and execute written territory and/or account plans

• Generate new business and maintain existing customer account base

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license

• Travel required up to 75%

• Work independently & virtually from a home-based office located in the Northwest Territory in WA or OR.

The base range for this position is $71,667.00 - $98,543.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
