Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union Programmer Analyst in Wasilla, Alaska
PURPOSE To perform basic software development in support of both internal and external members in atimely and accurate manner which reinforces the objectives of the Credit Union and maintainspositive member/employee relations. In order to achieve the objectives of the Credit Union, theseresponsibilities shall be executed promptly, courteously and accurately.
FUNCTIONS Responsible for member marketing of the Credit Union and knowledge of all servicesoffered to a degree that will enable answering questions, cross selling or referring membersfor specific services. Responsible for providing systems analysis and programming on fairly straight forwardprojects or assistance with more complex projects. Responsible for coding, testing, and implementation of software for the Credit Union basedon the directions and standards established by the Information Services ApplicationsManager and under the guidance of senior programming staff. Responsible for designing, developing, testing, debugging, and documenting new andexisting computer programs. Responsible for preparing detailed systems specifications, flow charts, and logic diagramsfrom which programs will be written. Provide the Information Services Applications Manager with reports accounting for timespent on projects assigned. Assist the Information Services Applications Manager as needed.
INFORMATION SERVICES FUNCTIONS As a member of the Information Services department incumbent will be required to assist inproviding help desk coverage to internal members, be part of the 24/7 critical services coveragerotation abiding by the established service metrics, and help with coverage of daily computeroperation tasks.

PREREQUISITES FOR THIS POSITION Minimum Education and Experience: Associates Degree or 2 years of comparable workingexperience in data analysis or programming with specific use of desired programminglanguages, databases, or programming tools. Experience working in the financial industry andknowledge of Symitar or other credit union data processing software is highly desirable. Programming languages: Symitar Report Generator, ASP.NET, VB.NET, SQL, JavaScript, VBScript, HTML, DHTML, and XML desired. Databases: MS SQL Server 2012, MS Access 2013, or Symitar desired. Programming Tools: MS Visual Studio.Net, MS Visio, Macromedia Dreamweaver, MacromediaFlash, Adobe Photoshop, or Symitar integrated Report Generator software desired.
