Job Title: Assembly Technician 1st Shift

Job Description

• Hiring for maintenance engineer/assembly candidates

• Candidates will assemble machinery that could be the size of a table, up to the size of a house

• Candidates will use hand and power tools to mount motors, valves, shafts, elevators and more

• Could also paint potentially

• Will need to read a bill of materials to retrieve parts

• Will be taught print reading, but prefer someone to have seen a blueprint prior

• Will learn to cut and thread piping

• Machines used could be sheer machines, pipe threaders, band saws and different types of tack welders

• Tack welding will be taught

• Own basic hand and power tools will need brought in

• Candidates could have to wear a respirator IF NEED BE for painting

Skills

• Mechanical skills (welding, pipe threading, blueprint reading, mechanical assembly)

• Hand and power tools usage

• Blueprint reading

Work Environment

Our client assembles thermal processing equipment (heat treating furnaces and large generators) for manufacturing-based industries. The assembly is conducted in a quiet, custom-built, assembly-style shop with no robotics involved. The plant operates as a drug-free workplace. Work hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime when required (40-50 hours a week). The environment is clean with a job shop atmosphere. Compensation ranges from $18-21/hour.
