The Opportunity

The role reports to the Director of Software Quality Assurance and is within the Quality, Regulatory, and Compliance function of BTS IT. The role works with all levels of the BTS IT and Abbott quality organizations to drive improvements in BTS Infrastructure Quality. Continually looks for opportunities for quality improvements. Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels in Abbott IT organization and with external partners.

Manages the daily operations of the Infrastructure Quality team in support of quality initiatives and infrastructure related internal and external quality audit requests. The role also provides consultation to Infrastructure Services counterparts on quality and compliance while considering regulatory impact as the organization moves to AI/ML opportunities. Provides cybersecurity quality oversight and touchpoints with the Software Lifecycle and Infrastructure Services.

Identifies, proposes, and leads improvements related to Infrastructure QA policies, processes, and procedures in support of the BTS IT domains. Ensures that documentation complies with policy and procedure requirements in conjunction with internal and external business and technology partners.

What You’ll Work On

  • Ensures Infrastructure Services deliverables comply with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Partners with Abbott’s Cybersecurity organization for security and vulnerability processes to ensure GxP compliance.

  • Coordinates the introduction of new strategic methodologies with the BTS vision and goals.

  • Drives the GXP Inspection Support for IS and defends the strategies to internal auditors, regulatory authorities, and other certified bodies.

  • Applies Good Documentation Practices and assists as appropriate with required documentation for compliance purposes.

  • Champion change and innovation. Stimulates creativity and innovation in others.

  • Set goals, performance assessments and support of growth plans of employees.

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent plus 8+ years of related work experience with IT Quality in the life science industry , or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Strong experience working with Infrastructure services and compliance .

  • Familiarity with large enterprise Data Center Networking, such as Routing, Switching, Wireless Access, Software Define WAN (SD-WAN) Firewall Controls, Load Balancing, Security Infrastructure, Remote Access Connectivity Solutions (Cisco AnyConnect, Zscaler ZPA), Network Segmentation, DHCP/DNS/IPAM, and Zscaler technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI/ML is strongly preferred.

  • Certifications from ASQ or ISO9001 or ISO13485 preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • At least 3 years managing direct reports.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
