Job Title: Lead Radiation Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Lead Radiation Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying clinical environmental needs, maintaining patient charts, scheduling, and ensuring accurate administration of radiation therapy treatments. This role requires collaboration with the Chief Radiation Therapist and adherence to all department policies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify clinical environmental needs and demonstrate the appropriate follow-up action to address them.

  • Maintain weekly chart reviews and shift reports.

  • Handle initial patient scheduling.

  • Monitor ICD 10 coding for the CPC.

  • Lead machine calibration and coordinate service calls as necessary.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Radiation Therapist to implement clinical treatment techniques and procedures.

  • Review and/or administer daily prescribed Radiation Therapy treatments.

  • Observe and adhere to all department policies concerning Radiation Therapy treatment procedures.

  • Prepare room and equipment for patients by gathering necessary equipment, supplies, and setup devices.

  • Set appropriate treatment unit parameters and deliver the prescribed dose of radiation.

  • Maintain visual and/or audible communication with the patient during treatment.

  • Obtain appropriate port films on patients when prescribed and adjust field placement as needed.

  • Monitor patients for unusual reactions and events, and report to the Clinical Director and Radiation Oncologist.

  • Keep immobilization devices clean and orderly, and utilize them as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.

  • Keep records of machine downtime and maintain machine fault list reports.

Essential Skills

  • Radiation therapy expertise

  • ARRT registration

  • IEMA license in IL

  • ACLS and BLS certification active in IL

  • Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school

  • Ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) preferred

  • Experience in Oncology and Urology

  • Bilingual in Polish or Russian preferred

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts from 7am to 4pm, with some flexibility if needed. The clinic is a stand-alone facility. The environment is positive and team-oriented. The role does not require weekends, travel, or on-call duties. A signing bonus of $5000.00 is available for full-time employees.

The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $135200.00
