The Manager, Global IT Network Services, who reports to the VP IT, Enterprise Architecture & Integrations is responsible for the comprehensive oversight, governance, and management of global network services, including LAN, WAN, switches, routers, wireless, and firewalls. This role is essential in establishing and maintaining network standards and procedures, ensuring optimal performance and security, and managing network segmentation and operational technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager, Global IT Network Services oversees the design, implementation, and management of the global network infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation and security of LAN, WAN, switches, routers, wireless networks, and firewalls.
The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining global network standards and procedures to ensure efficient and secure network operations, including network segmentation strategies that comply with relevant cybersecurity protocols.
In addition to overseeing network security measures, the Manager integrates and manages operational technology within the network, ensuring all components adhere to global cybersecurity standards and regulations.
The role requires close collaboration with vendors to select the best network products and services, leading and mentoring a global team of network engineers, and managing network-related projects to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
The Manager is also responsible for monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing operations to maintain high availability and reliability. This includes using observability stacks, network monitoring tools, and automation tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform to enhance network performance and reliability.
The role involves integrating network services with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and ensuring effective firewall management with Palo Alto technologies.
Additionally, the role includes managing the financial reconciliation of network services, maintaining accurate budgeting and financial reporting across global operations, and managing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for network-related documentation.
The Manager enforces change control processes in line with ITIL practices, establishes and manages key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensures efficient ticket management within the IT Service Management (ITSM) system.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Associate’s degree in computer science, engineering (electronic or communications), or a related field, or 8+ years of related experience is required.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in Information Technology management, including experience leading network projects as an analyst, architect, or technical lead. Experience with international networks, service providers, and cross-functional global teams is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering (electronic or communications), or a related field, or 8+ years of related experience.
Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP), Palo Alto certifications, and cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are preferred.
Experience managing network operations in a global environment, with a focus on integrating network security solutions with cloud providers, is preferred. Experience with wireless technology platforms and network segmentation for OT networks is advantageous.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Strong understanding of cybersecurity, public cloud architecture, and compliance requirements, enabling them to effectively integrate network security and operational technology across global operations.
Experience managing network operations in a global environment, with a focus on integrating network security solutions with cloud providers, is preferred.
Experience with wireless technology platforms and network segmentation for OT networks is advantageous.
Advanced knowledge of network automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform) and a deep understanding of network security practices, including firewall management, network segmentation, and access control.
Strong project management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams, are highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience in developing and enforcing global network standards and procedures, as well as a proven ability to collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver complex network solutions.
Additionally, a solid understanding of ITIL processes, financial management of network services, and the ability to develop and monitor KPIs for network operations are preferred.
