MetalTek’s Petro-Chemical Estimating Engineers are responsible for developing accurate and thorough estimates of costs and lead times to support the creation of quotes for our Petro-Chemical customers. Through the use of computer system resources and input from field sales, sales, manufacturing and metallurgical engineers and manufacturing staff, the Petro-Chemical Estimating Engineer builds estimates for the manufacture of our custom-made, high-end application castings. Estimates incorporate material costs as well as all manufacturing activities including casting, heat treating, machining and quality assurance activities to produce castings to customer specifications. Estimates may also include third-party processing such as outside machining or non-destructive testing.  Additionally, the position is responsible for identifying and assessing the risk potential of new business opportunities and maintaining a close working relationship with Engineering to drive improvements in the Petro-Chemical product line.

Qualifications

A degree in business, engineering or materials technology and/or experience in the metals manufacturing industry or knowledge of the Petro-Chem market, applications and product design are preferred. The person we need for this role must have an excellent understanding of foundry and fabrication techniques and processes.  Strong computer knowledge including spreadsheets and database skills is a must.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are also essential.
