Schedule Details:This position works 7 consecutive days starting Wednesday ending the following Tuesday. Shifts are always 10.5 hours in length 1230pm-1100pm with an unpaid 30-minute meal break included. The 7 worked days are followed by 7 days off. 7/70 employees are asked to take vacations during the 7 days off each pay period, or switch shifts with another person in the department to maintain the FTE worked hours. If a federal holiday falls on the employee\'s week \"on\" they will be working that holiday. The 7/70 employee works 70 hours per pay period but is paid for 80. The laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually. Our Lab services operate state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. Our Pathologists and PhDs work closely with lab employees to monitor quality, as well as identify, access, and implement new technology. The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). What You Will Do: The Lab Outreach Phlebotomist performs specimen procurement procedures in various hospital departments and off-site locations. Procures blood specimens from patients by means of venipuncture, capillary, or arterial collection. Provides patient instruction relative to collection of non-blood specimens. Performs and results waived testing. Acts as a liaison between the laboratory and nurses or other healthcare providers. Must have the ability to work at various PHC Lab locations as needed.
