Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst (Contract-to-Hire), (Onsite Position)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to manage sales and use tax compliance, audits, and reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment and support strategic efforts to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns and reconciliations.

• Manage exemption certificate compliance, including maintaining software and resolving potential tax exposures.

• Review purchase invoices to confirm tax determinations and identify reverse audit opportunities.

• Provide recommendations to leadership for minimizing tax exposures and implementing best practices.

• Conduct technical tax research and document findings as needed.

• Support governmental sales and use tax audits, including gathering documentation and assisting with audit strategies.

• Assist with month-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met.

• Stay current on changes to tax laws and business activities that impact tax compliance.

• Address inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders regarding tax matters.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in sales and use tax within a corporate tax or public accounting setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with OneSource Tax Determination and Compliance systems.

• Proficiency with certificate management software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Experience with CCH or similar tax research tools.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines.

Location:

This position is onsite at our offices located west of Milwaukee, in the Greater Milwaukee area.
