Social Media Internship (Summer 2025)

Waupaca Foundry is seeking an energetic, self-starter to join its marketing team supporting the implementation of social media strategies and tactics. As a social media intern, you play an important cross-functional role in supporting sales and marketing, human resources, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) teams. S/he will assist with the development and implementation of targeted recruitment marketing, lead generation, and branding programs intended to reach new prospects and opportunities. Support social events.

The social media intern will assist in creating content that humanizes the Waupaca Foundry brand story while focusing on conversions by connecting social media to marketing campaigns. This role will work across all social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and others. S/he will provide real-time insights and analysis of social media content and performance, online stakeholder commentary, opportunities for stakeholder engagement on key topics, escalation of potential reputation threats, and other customer service-related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.

  • Create, and execute content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and others.)

  • Support both organic and paid engagement: Engage Waupaca Foundry’s community, including all stakeholders from employees and incumbents to customers and suppliers, including daily community management of all social channels in a timely fashion.

  • Support awareness and follower/fan growth: Increase visibility and awareness of Waupaca Foundry and steadily increase our social media following by effectively publishing content and engaging audiences. Collaborate with the content writers on photo and video strategy; facilitate launches for social optimization.

  • Foster Consideration and Intent: Create, test, and implement lead generation, recruitment marketing, and CSR content across social media platforms that build engagement and drive business results on company social media pages.

  • Enhance Conversions: Execute appropriate content strategies to drive targeted traffic through conversion rate optimization, social media, and online ads, analyze each initiative; and adjust to produce better results.

  • Content Analytics and Performance Reporting: Collect and maintain tracking data, analyze and report on results, evaluate analytics data and resulting sales to identify successes and misses, and incorporate lessons learned into future content and campaigns.

  • Keep Current on Industry Changes: Advise marketing team on impactful news and emerging trends.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be enrolled in post-high school education for the Fall 2025 semester.

  • Must be a current college student working towards a degree in marketing.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.

  • Be 18 years or older.

  • Be considered a full-time student (min. of 12 credits)

  • Proficient in Canva and Microsoft platforms.

  • Familiar with creating TikTok’s.

  • Great at communication.

  • Is willing to step outside of their comfort zone.

  • Strong written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks in a fast-paced, team environment.
