Haas Door Company Manufacturing Process Engineer in Wauseon, Ohio

JOB SUMMARY:    

The manufacturing process engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and improving manufacturing equipment, systems, and related processes.  This position will lead and participate in projects and daily efforts focused on continuous improvement, equipment upgrades, and installation support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, develop and test new processes and equipment; Identify and develop key project and process variables
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to facilitate new equipment and process implementation
  • Developing detailed work scope and layouts for equipment, processes and workflow
  • Develop design proposals and options for solutions to manufacturing needs
  • Estimating budgets and time scopes for each project
  • Analyzing problems or deficiencies in the manufacturing process and developing solutions to resolve them
  • Apply new technologies when appropriate to improve the manufacturing process
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers in good design practices
  • Source and work with external vendors 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (mechanical, electrical and fluid power) is preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to deal with issues while providing flexible solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Manufacturing process knowledge with the following is a plus: Rollforming, press stamping, tool and die, progressive stamping, automated painting, RIM (reactionary injection molding),CNC, robotic, machine design and fixture building is a plus
  • Proven mechanical design capability (CAD, Solidworks equivalent)
  • Must be able to work full time on site
