WAUSHARA COUNTY Child Protective Services Case Manager in WAUTOMA, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: At Waushara County, we are dedicated to protecting the well-being of children and supporting families in our community. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child Protection Services Case Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and welfare of children in need. This position provides child protection investigation and family assessments and/or ongoing child protection case management to families that have encountered abuse and neglect; primary duties are dependent on agency needs. What You\'ll Do: Provide comprehensive case management to a diverse clientele, ensuring each child and family receives tailored support. Serve as a vital liaison among schools, law enforcement, courts, and out-of-home placements to coordinate services and advocate for families. Conduct thorough assessments of alleged child abuse and neglect, including interviewing children, parents, and alleged perpetrators in various settings. Collaborate closely with the Corporation Counsel and District Attorney to prepare court documents and provide testimony as needed. Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports, adhering to all timelines and standards of practice. What We\'re Looking For: A Bachelor\'s degree in Social Work or a related field preferred, with a strong commitment to child welfare. Previous experience in social work is preferred, with a desire to continue professional growth through ongoing training. Knowledge of child development, family systems, and juvenile court laws. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently. Compensation: Starting wage is \$24.09 - \$25.56 per hour (based on relevant experience), with comprehensive benefits. Why Waushara County? We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Additional training is required for carrying out specific job duties including state offered \"core\" courses, interviewing courses, juvenile court intake training, etc. At least one year previous experience in the social work field. Knowledge of principles/theories of social work practice, family systems, child development, human growth and behavior, child welfare history, and juvenile court laws. Ability to manage time and establish priorities, adhere to schedules and timelines, communicate orally and in writing, use good judgment, work as a team member as well as independently and make credible presentations in court and in the community. Skills are also needed in working with resistive and aggressive people as well as establishing working relationships with children and families. Some computer literacy is needed. An ability to listen, be nonjudgmental, to identify enabling behaviors, to be compassionate, and follow the professional Code of Ethics as provided by the WI Dept. of Safety & Professional Services.
